Peter Delpeut

Peter Delpeut (* 1956 ) is a Dutch film director , screenwriter and writer .

Life

Peter Delpeut became famous for his first films in which he used found footage material. In Germany, his documentaries “The Forbidden Quest” (a fake documentary), “Go West, Young Man! A film trip on the trail of the Western ”and“ Always wanderlust. The artist's life of Johanna Kaiser ”(voiceover: Ursula Werner ) can be seen at festivals and in the cinema. As a writer, Peter Delpeut has written several non-fiction books about travel and two novels so far. The passionate cyclist is convinced that the experience of the landscape from a bike is not comparable to any other travel experience. In 2007 he received the renowned Dutch Halewijn Prize for his complete works. He was also deputy director of the Nederlands Filmmuseum in Amsterdam from 1988 to 1995 , where he lives and works.
