Peter Effenberger (born July 10, 1943 in Zottwitz , Silesia ) is a former German football player in the storm . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Effenberger played at BSG Chemie Döbern . In 1965 he moved to SG Dynamo Hohenschönhausen , before moving to BFC Dynamo in 1966 . In the same year, the newly founded BSG Energie Cottbus signed Effenberger. In his first season 1966/67 he came to 15 missions in the second-rate GDR league, in which he only met twice. In the following season he scored twelve goals in thirty games. Effenberger was able to keep his quota consistently high over the next few seasons. The best result he achieved with 16 goals in 22 missions in the 1972/73 season . After this season Cottbus was also promoted to the GDR league. There he only made six appearances and two goals, in 1974/75 there were also only six games (when substituting), but without a goal. He then ended his football career.

From 1996 to 2009 Effenberger worked as a trainer for several lower class clubs.
