Peter Friderich Quaade

Peter Friderich Quaade (born January 16, 1779 in Pommerby , † March 1, 1850 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish major general and father of the Danish diplomat and Foreign Minister George Quaade .

Life

Quaade was the son of the postman August Diederich Quaade († 1811 at the age of 64) and Magdalena Margaretha, née Mordhorst (1745-1830). He spent his childhood with Chamberlain Magnus von Wedderkop (1758-1825) at Gut Dollrott . He studied mathematics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . From 1796 his military career began with the Feldjägerkorps and was awarded the Dannebrogden 30 years later . His last promotion to major general took place in 1842.

In 1812 Quaade married Christiana Gustava de Tuxen (1792–1866) and had five children with her. He is buried in the Copenhagen garrison at Kirkegård .
