Peter Fuchs (born May 17, 1949 in Dinkelsbühl ) was professor for general sociology and for sociology of disability at the University of Neubrandenburg from 1992 to 2007 .

Life

After training and a professional career as a curative educator (1972 to 1984), Fuchs studied social sciences and sociology from 1986 to 1989 at the University of Bielefeld , the Technical University of Dortmund and the Distance University in Hagen . In 1991 he received his doctorate from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen with a thesis on the accessibility of society: on the construction and imagination of social unity for a Dr. rer. soc. His theoretical orientation relates to the sociological systems theory of Niklas Luhmann .

Peter Fuchs lives in Bad Sassendorf and temporarily ran an Institute for General Theory of Sense Systems (iTAS).
