Peter Goßens

Peter Goßens (born March 24, 1966 in Moers ) is a German comparator and literary scholar .

Life

After graduating from the Thomaeum municipal high school in Kempen , Goßens studied comparative literature, modern German and Italian literature in Bonn and Pisa. In 1998 he was in Bonn due to work on translation Ungaretti-Paul Celan doctorate . The habilitation took place in 2011 in Bochum ( world literature. Models of transnational literary perception in the 19th century ). He worked on the exhibition "Foreign proximity". From 1998 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Comparative Literature at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Since 2006 he has been a research assistant (Academic Council) in the Comparative Literature section of the Ruhr University Bochum . In 2017 he was appointed adjunct professor for general and comparative literature at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He is a member of the German Society for General and Comparative Literature Studies (DGAVL).
