Peter Dawson Gordon (born August 16, 1882 in Nairn , † June 26, 1975 in Vancouver ) was a Canadian sailor .

successes

Peter Gordon, of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club sailed, won in 1932 in Los Angeles at the Olympic Games in the 8-meter class silver medal. He was a crew member of the boat Santa Maria , led by skipper Ronald Maitland , which finished all four races in second place, behind the only other boat, the Angelita from skipper Owen Churchill from the United States. In addition to Gyles, the crew of the Santa Maria also included George Gyles , Hubert Wallace , Ernest Cribb and Harry Jones .

Gordon was initially active as a marksman in the skeet before he joined the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. He ran PD Gordon Hardware , a household goods store.
