Ernest Frank "Jack" Cribb (born August 4, 1885 in Havant , United Kingdom , † August 18, 1957 in Vancouver ) was a Canadian sailor .

successes

Ernest Cribb, of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club sailed, won in 1932 in Los Angeles at the Olympic Games in the 8-meter class silver medal. He was a crew member of the boat Santa Maria , led by skipper Ronald Maitland , which finished all four races in second place, behind the only other boat, the Angelita from skipper Owen Churchill from the United States. In addition to Cribb, the crew of the Santa Maria also included Peter Gordon , George Gyles , Harry Jones and Hubert Wallace .

He worked for Grand Trunk Railway in the Klondike region and in Eastern Canada. During the Second World War he worked as a foreman in a shipyard where numerous warships were built. After all, he was employed in management at the West Coast Salvage & Contracting shipyard in Vancouver.
