Peter Grünwald

Peter Grünwald (born July 31, 1964 in Klosterneuburg ) is an officer in the Austrian Armed Forces , currently in the rank of brigadier and was in command of the 6th Jäger Brigade from 2010 to 2017 .

Life

After graduating from the Theresian Military Academy, Peter Grünwald worked as a company commander of a hunter company in Landeswehr Trunk Regiment 32 and Jägerregiment 3.

After completing the General Staff course from 1994 to 1997, Grünwald worked as an officer in General Staff Department 3 and Chief of Staff of the Salzburg Military Command as well as Head of Management in the Land Forces Command .

In 2004 he was the commander of Reconnaissance Battalion 2, and from 2005 he was the chief planning officer in the operational command of the German Bundeswehr . In 2009 he became Head of Division 2 and Deputy Head of Training A in the Federal Ministry for National Defense and Sport .

In 2017 he handed over command of the 6th Jäger Brigade to Colonel Wolfgang Weichselberger.

Private

He lives with his wife and four children in Wals near Salzburg and is a member of the Austrian Alpine Club .
