Peter Hauptmann (State Secretary)

Peter Hauptmann (* 1966 in Bad Godesberg ) is a German political official . From 2009 to 2012 he was State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Economics and Science.

Life and work

After graduating from school, Hauptmann completed an apprenticeship as a banker . He then studied law at the University of Saarland and the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer . He completed the legal preparatory service a. a. at the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate and the German Embassy in Seoul , South Korea . In 1997 he graduated with the second law exam.

From 1997 he was employed by the Saarland Economic Development Corporation (gwSaar). He was initially team coordinator there and was promoted to authorized signatory and chief operating officer in 2001 . From February 2009 to 2010 he was managing director of Science Park Saar GmbH, an entrepreneur and start-up center of the Saarland state government.

In November 2009, Hauptmann was appointed State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Economics and Science, led by Christoph Hartmann ( FDP / DPS ). When the Saarland Jamaica coalition collapsed in 2012, he lost this position and was succeeded by Jürgen Barke in his office. He then worked as a freelance consultant. On April 1, 2014, he became head of the business development agency (WfG) in the Viersen district .

Peter Hauptmann is married and has three sons.
