Peter Hofbauer (politician)
Peter Hofbauer (born May 14, 1886 in Hellmonsödt , Upper Austria, † December 21, 1962 in Linz ) was an Austrian farmer and politician .
Life
Hofbauer came from a large family and initially worked as an unskilled worker in Eisenerz . After participating in the First World War , in 1919 he married a farmer's daughter in the parish of St. Magdalena and ran the stately farm. The smart and matter-of-fact man was one of the founders of the farmers 'union and was chairman of the district farmers' union from 1934 to 1938. Between 1924 and 1938 he was mayor of St. Magdalena, which was incorporated into Linz in 1939. As a member of the state parliament from 1931 to 1934, he represented the Christian Social Party .
The Hofbauerstiege in Linz is named after him.
