Peter Holásek

Peter Holásek (born October 14, 1953 ) is a diplomat from Slovakia .

Career

From 1972 to 1977 Holásek studied at the Faculty of Art at the Comenius University in Bratislava . He has a PhD in philosophy.

From 1977 Holásek worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechoslovakia (ČSSR) in Prague . From 1988 to 1992 he was the second secretary of the Czechoslovak embassy in Indonesia . After Slovakia's independence on January 1, 1993, Holásek returned to Bratislava and became director of the Information, Analysis and Policy Planning Department in the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1995 he took over the post of deputy director of the Slovak Institute for International Studies in Bratislava. In the same year Holásek moved to the Slovak embassy in Israel as a consultant for four years . On his return in 1999 he was first deputy director of the Department of Cultural Relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then deputy director of the Third Territorial Department. In 2000, he was again director of the Department of Analysis and Policy Planning.

In August 2003, Holásek, succeeding Milan Lajčiak , took up the post of Slovak ambassador to Indonesia . Based in Jakarta , Holásek had additional accreditations as ambassador for Brunei , Malaysia , East Timor , the Philippines and Singapore . The presentation of accreditation for Singapore to President Sellapan Ramanathan took place on February 12, 2004. Holásek's tenure in Jakarta ended in June 2009. He was succeeded as the new ambassador by Štefan Rozkopál .

In 2012 Holásek headed the Middle East Department in the Foreign Ministry and negotiated at ambassador level with the Pakistani ambassador in Vienna , Khurshid Anwar .

Holásek has been the Slovak ambassador in Abuja ( Nigeria ) since 2015 . He presented his accreditation to President Muhammadu Buhari on October 6th. Again, Holásek is second-accredited for other countries. On November 23, 2017, he handed over his accreditation to President Alassane Ouattara of the Ivory Coast . Holásek is also responsible for Ghana .
