Abdou Harroui

Abdoulrahmane "Abdou" Harroui (born January 13, 1998 in Leiden ) is a Dutch football player .

Career in club football

Abdou Harroui, who has Moroccan roots, first played in his hometown of Leiden in the province of South Holland for LV Roodenburg and UVS before joining the U17 team at Sparta Rotterdam in the summer of 2014 via the Alphense Boys from Alphen aan den Rijn .

In 2016, the midfielder played his first game for the reserve team in the third-highest Dutch division and was used for the first time in the professional team in the Eredivisie on February 24, 2018 in the 1: 2 defeat at AZ Alkmaar . In the following years he was often a member of the professional squad, but was not used. After the Rotterdam team had qualified for the promotion and relegation play-offs, Harroui came on May 13, 2018, 2-2 in the second leg in the semi-finals against FC Dordrecht to another appearance for the professional team and rose after the play offs with Sparta from the Eredivisie. In the following second division season 2018/19 Harroui was used in 35 of 38 point games. In these games he scored four goals. In the play-offs, Sparta Rotterdam prevailed against TOP Oss in the semifinals - Harroui scored both goals in the 2-0 win in the first leg - but lost to BV De Graafschap in the final despite a 2-0 first-leg win and thus missed promotion.

His contract runs until 2021.

Career in Dutch national teams

After two appearances for the Dutch U20 national team, Abdou Harroui made his debut for the Dutch U21 team in the goalless draw in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain against the United States on March 24, 2019 .
