Peter Hufe (born September 28, 1954 in Wesel ) is a German politician. From 1994 to 2008 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the SPD .

Life and work

Hufe was born as the second and last child of a skilled worker family. Both parents come from agriculture, which also shaped his youth. After attending primary and secondary school in Wesel, he took a three-year apprenticeship in Oberhausen to train as a dyer and chemical cleaner. At the age of 18 he became a branch manager of a small dry cleaning company with eight employees. Then in 1974 he voluntarily joined the Bundeswehr and trained as a helicopter pilot in Bückeburg . In the following almost 20 years he completed more than 3,000 flight hours, obtained the secondary school leaving certificate and the technical college entrance qualification at the telecolleg and was admitted to the officer career. After a transfer to Laupheim (Baden-Württemberg), another transfer to Roth (Middle Franconia) took place in 1983 . There Hufes was appointed as a career officer.

As part of his mandate as a member of the state parliament from 1994 to October 2008, he did internships lasting several days, for example as a bulky waste collector, waiter, at archaeological excavations, in a group of severely disabled people or on the farm.

Peter Hufe has been a member of the Bavarian Broadcasting Board of Directors since January 2009 . Hufe studied anthropology at the LMU Munich and completed his master's degree in 2017.

His political career began in 1984 when he joined the SPD. In 1988 Hufe became district chairman of the SPD in the Roth district . In 1990 he took on his first mandates when he was elected to the city and district council. He held the city council mandate until 2004 and is still a district councilor today. In 1994 he was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament for the first time in the constituency of Middle Franconia and was confirmed in the 1998 and 2003 elections. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for universities, research and culture. He was chairman of the media working group and cultural policy spokesman as well as chairman of the Bundeswehr working group of his parliamentary group. He was no longer available for election to the state parliament in Bavaria in 2008 . Peter Hufe was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
