from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Ingwersen (born December 15, 1885 in Flensburg ; † 1958 ) was a doctor of philosophy , author , seminar senior teacher , school and senior government councilor .

Life

Ingwersen was first lieutenant in the artillery during World War I and then worked as a senior seminar teacher and later as seminar director at the Royal Prussian Seminar (today Ludwig Meyn High School ) in Uetersen . He wrote local, educational and literary works and was active in the development of teacher training in Schleswig-Holstein. Ingwersen's love for his hometown became clear early on in elementary school and, as a loyal son of this, he stayed in Flensburg every weekend after his school service and fought there as a speaker for the preservation of Germanness in North Schleswig. His hometown Flensburg remained in the German Reich, primarily through his work. With his death in 1958, the local history of Schleswig-Holstein lost one of its leading figures.
