Peter Kellner (singer, 1989)

Peter Kellner (* 1989 in Slovakia ) is a Slovak opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Kellner completed his vocal studies in Košice and at the Mozarteum Salzburg . He has already appeared in university performances in Mozart roles and Victor Ullmann's Kaiser von Atlantis .

He had engagements at the State Theater Košice and in Banská Bystrica as well as in Bratislava , then also in Klagenfurt. In 2013 he could be seen at the Salzburg Festival as Osmin in Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio for Children and in Don Carlo (under Antonio Pappano ). Kellner also appeared in Liverpool and at the Festival Internacional de Música de Macau . He was later engaged at the Oldenburg State Theater and has been at the Graz Opera since 2015/16 . In 2017 he made his debut at the Operklosterneuburg . Kellner sang concerts under conductors such as Friedrich Haider , Theodor Guschlbauer , Antonio Pappano and Vasily Petrenko .

At the Austrian Music Theater Prize 2017 he was nominated in the category of best young artist for his portrayal of Basilio in The Barber of Seville at the Graz Opera. At the 2018 International Mozart Competition , he was awarded 2nd prize and the audience prize.
