Peter Keppelmüller
Peter Keppelmüller (born June 7, 1944 in Linz ) is an Austrian chemist and politician ( SPÖ ). Keppelmüller was a member of the National Council between 1983 and 2002 .
education and profession
After elementary school, Keppelmüller attended the federal secondary school in Linz , where he graduated from high school in 1962. Keppelmüller then studied technical chemistry at the Graz University of Technology . In 1968 he completed his basic studies with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. In 1971 he received his doctorate as “Dr. techn. "
After completing his studies, Keppelmüller worked from 1971 for Chemiefaser Lenzing AG in the viscose fiber research department. Between 1976 and 1991 he was head of the newly established environmental protection department.
politics
Keppelmüller was a local councilor in Timelkam between 1972 and 1986 and a member of the local council between 1979 and 1984. Within the party, he held the function of district party chairman of the Young Generation Vöcklabruck between 1975 and 1980 and was district party chairman of the SPÖ Vöcklabruck from 1982. From 1982 he was also a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Upper Austria.
Between May 19, 1983 and December 19, 2002, Keppelmüller represented the SPÖ in the National Council. From 1987 to 2001 he was environmental protection spokesman for the Social Democratic parliamentary group and for many years deputy chairman in the environment committee. In the course of the restructuring of the SPÖ team for the National Council election in 2002 , Keppelmüller was replaced by Rosemarie Schönpass . In 2003, Keppelmüller also retired from his post as district party chairman.
