Peter Krausen

Peter Krausen (born April 19, 1985 in Giesenkirchen ) is a former German basketball player . The 2.07 meter tall indoor player played for Bayer Leverkusen in the basketball league and was a junior national player.

career

Krausen played in the junior division at DJK Odenkirchen and the Neuwerk gymnastics club and then joined the Bayer Leverkusen youth team. In December 2002 he made his debut in the basketball Bundesliga in a duel with Braunschweig . It should be his only game in the highest German class. In 2003 Krausen won the German A youth championship with Bayer Leverkusen (under coach Achim Kuczmann ).

In 2004 Krausen moved to the NVV Lions Mönchengladbach in the 2nd basketball league and was there in the playing position under the basket until 2007. Following his first season in Mönchengladbach (2004/05), he was named the best newcomer to the 2nd Bundesliga by the internet service eurobasket.com . Parallel to his basketball career, Krausen completed an apprenticeship as a banker. He played the 2007/08 game year with BSG Grevenbroich in the first regional league, before returning to Mönchengladbach in 2008, where he went basketball until 2011.

National team

Krausen played for the German national teams in the age range U16, U18 and U20. In 2002 he took part in the U18 European Championship in his own country and scored an average of 4.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per match in seven tournament games.
