Peter O. Mülbert

Peter O. Mülbert (born April 1, 1957 in Stuttgart ) is a German lawyer.

In 1976 he began studying law in Tübingen and Geneva . In 1981 Mülbert passed the first state law examination in Tübingen. From 1982 to 1985 he worked as a trainee lawyer at the Tübingen Regional Court . In 1984 Mülbert did his doctorate on the subject of " Misuse of bank guarantees and interim legal protection : the dogmatic foundations of bank guarantees" on first request "and their treatment in proceedings for interim legal protection ". jur. at the University of Tübingen. In 1985, the second state examination in law followed in Stuttgart . Again and again Mülbert was employed as a full or part-time assistant. He completed his habilitation in 1995 on the subject of " Aktiengesellschaft, Unternehmensgruppe und Kapitalmarkt: The shareholders' rights in the formation and restructuring of a company group between association and investor protection law " at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

In 1995 Mülbert was appointed university professor at Heidelberg University. In 1995 he was appointed professor at the University of Trier to succeed Peter-Christian Müller-Graff . In 1997 and 1998 Mülbert was Dean of the Law Faculty at Trier University. In 1998 Mülbert turned down the offer to succeed Karsten Schmidt at the University of Hamburg . Since 1999 Mülbert has held a chair for civil law , commercial and business law as well as banking law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and is director of the Institute for German and International Law of Giro, Savings and Credit Systems. In 2010, Mülbert turned down an offer to succeed Holger Fleischer at the University of Bonn . In the same year, he was accepted into the Gutenberg Research College, which included a 5-year exemption from teaching.
