Peter Peake
Robert Peter Joseph Peake (born March 1971 in Wolverhampton , Staffordshire ) is a British animator and film director.
Life
Peake studied graphic design at Bath College of Higher Education from 1990 to 1992 and joined the British animation studio Aardman Animations in 1992 . He worked as a freelance animator in Aardman's advertising film business before writing and animating his first short film Pib and Pog in 1994 . Pib and Pog was released in 1994 and received a BAFTA nomination for Best Animated Short Film the following year . Peakes second directorial work Humdrum received a BAFTA and an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film.
As an animator, Peake was involved in the Aardman film Wallace & Gromit - Unter Schafen and the animated series Creature Comforts . For Channel 4 he created the television series Captain Sarcastic . Since 2004 he has been (intermittently) head of the commercials department at Aardman. Peake is also a lecturer at the Center for Animation at Via University College in Viborg , Denmark.
