action
It's night: Wallace sleeps peacefully while Gromit knits . He hears sheep in front of the house , but thinks nothing of it and continues knitting until the wool is all. The next morning the oatmeal machine goes crazy because a cable is gnawed. The leaves of plants are missing and Wallace's beloved cheese also shows bite marks. There is no trace of the culprit and the unknown sheep thief reported in the newspapers has not yet been captured. There is no time to think about it, as Wendolene Ramsbottom calls from her wool shop to hire both of them to work as window cleaners.
Wallace, who only wanted to buy wool for Gromit, falls in love with Wendolene, who has a rather large dog named Preston. Gromit sees dog and mistress with skepticism and is happy to return home. There, however, the chaos reigns and the culprit is soon found: A small sheep is in the house, which Wallace baptizes " Shaun " and first bathes and accidentally shears lightly. Preston appears unnoticed and steals the blueprints for the washing machine and clipper. A short time later, Gromit finds a truck full of sheep in Wendolene's backyard, which he releases. He himself is kidnapped by Preston in the truck and a short time later caught by the police as a wanted sheep thief and sentenced to prison. Wallace uses all the sheep to free Gromit from prison. Wallace and Gromit eventually witness Wendolene being forced by Preston to put all the sheep in a pasture in a truck. Since she refuses to support Preston's machinations any further, she is also locked in the truck. In a daring chase, Wallace and Gromit initially manage to get all the sheep and Wendolene out of the truck onto their motorcycle, but in the end Wallace, Wendolene and the sheep end up in the truck, which is suddenly swallowed by the ground near the wool shop .
Finally, Gromit follows the trail to a factory where Preston has recreated Wallace's washing and clipping machine and added an oversized meat grinder . Wendolene explains to Wallace and Gromit: Preston is not a dog, but a robot in the form of a dog, which initially functioned normally, but has now malfunctioned. Although all the sheep, Wallace, Gromit and Wendolene look death in the eye several times, Shaun finally manages to push Preston into the meat grinder, where his mechanics are destroyed. For Wallace, the happy ending has a bitter aftertaste: It turns out that Wendolene has a cheese allergy.
