David Sproxton

David Sproxton (born January 6, 1954 ) is a British director and producer and co-founder of the Oscar- winning Aardman Animation Studios.

Life

Together with his friend Peter Lord , Lord founded the film production company, initially only called Aardman , in a backyard building in Bristol in the mid-1970s . To the common dream to realize their own individual animation style, the two experimented with modeling clay and developed the Claymationtechnik ( clay English = kneading or modeling clay).

Awards

• On June 17, 2006, Sproxton was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
