Peter Quinn (Bishop)

Peter Quinn (born February 17, 1928 in Highgate, Western Australia , † August 23, 2008 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Bunbury , Australia.

Life

Peter Quinn received on 21 December 1950 by Pietro Biondi Fumasoni cardinal , prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Perth .

Pope Paul VI appointed him in 1969 titular bishop of Falerone and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Perth. He received episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Perth, Lancelot John Goody , on August 27, 1969; Co- consecrators were Francis Xavier Thomas , Bishop of Geraldton , and Myles McKeon , Bishop of Bunbury.

On May 26, 1982, Pope John Paul II appointed him third bishop of Bunbury .

Pope John Paul II granted his resignation and remained in office as Apostolic Administrator until his successor Gerald Joseph Holohan took office on September 5, 2001.
