Myles McKeon

Myles McKeon (born April 3, 1919 in Drummin , County Mayo , Ireland , † May 2, 2016 ) was Bishop of Bunbury in Australia.

Life

Myles McKeon attended St Jarlath's College in Tuam . He studied at University College Dublin and a College of the Vincentians in Dublin . He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Perth on June 22, 1947 by the Bishop of Salford , Vincent Henry Marshall . Later he was a pastor there.

On May 23, 1962 he was by Pope John XXIII. appointed auxiliary bishop in Perth and titular bishop of Antipyrgos . The Bishop of Bunbury, Lancelot John Goody , ordained him episcopally on September 12 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were John Jobst SAC , Vicar Apostolic of Kimberley , and Francis Xavier Thomas , Bishop of Geraldton . McKeon attended the first, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father. On March 6, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Bunbury.

On February 18, 1982, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
