Villa Rosario is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Villa Rosario is the central place of the canton Villa Rosario de Wila Khala in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Mocomoco in the province Eliodoro Camacho . The village is located at an altitude of 4264  m on the northwestern edge of the Cordillera Muñecas near the border with Peru .

Villa Rosario is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.

The mean average temperature of the region is 8 ° C, the annual precipitation is about 750 mm (see climate diagram Puerto Acosta). The region has a distinct daytime climate, the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only slightly between 5 ° C in July and 10 ° C in December.
