Escoma is a town in the La Paz department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Escoma is a central place in the 2009 newly formed district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Escoma , previously part of the Municipio Puerto Acosta , in the province of Eliodoro Camacho . The village is located at an altitude of 3832 m on the Bolivian plateau on the eastern bank of Lake Titicaca at the mouth of the Río Suches .

Escoma is located on the Altiplano on the western edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Real . The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the mean temperature fluctuations during the day are greater than during the year.

Due to the historical population development, the region has a high proportion of Aymara population; in the municipality of Puerto Acosta in the 2001 borders, 97.3 percent of the population spoke the Aymara language .
