The Municipio Mocomoco is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Mocomoco is one of three municipalities in the province of Eliodoro Camacho and is located in the northeastern part of the province. It borders the Republic of Peru to the northwest , the Municipio Humanata and the Municipio Puerto Acosta to the west, the Municipio Escoma to the southwest , the Municipio Puerto Carabuco to the south, the Muñecas province to the east , and the Bautista province to the north Saavedra .

The municipality has 135 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Mocomoco with 439 inhabitants in the central part of the municipality.

The Municipio Mocomoco is located on the Bolivian Altiplano at an average altitude of 3500  m , on the western edge of the Cordillera Real . The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than during the year.
