The municipality Humanata (also: Umanata ) is a district in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes -State Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Humanata was established as an independent municipality by law in 2009 and essentially emerged from the canton Umanata, which until 2009 was one of the nine cantons of the municipality Puerto Acosta .

Today the Municipio Humanata is one of five Municipios of the Province of Eliodoro Camacho and is located in the northwestern part of the province. It borders the Republic of Peru to the northwest , the Municipio Puerto Acosta to the southwest and south , and the Municipio Mocomoco to the east .

The municipality consists of 30 sub-cantons ( vicecantones ) and has 41 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Humanata with 426 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southern part of the municipality.

The Municipio Humanata is located on the Bolivian Altiplano on the western edge of the Cordillera Real .
