Peter R. Sahm
Peter R. Sahm (born September 7, 1934 in Berlin ; † December 19, 2013 ) was a German engineer and professor for foundries at RWTH Aachen University . From 1979 to 2002 he was director of the Foundry Institute at RWTH Aachen University.
In 1982 Peter Sahm was the scientific coordinator of the first German space mission Spacelab D1. In 1986 he was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize . In 1991 he received the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1995 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Hanover and a foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .
