Peter Radacher (skier, 1910)

Peter Radacher , known as "the Taxenbacher" (born September 25, 1910 in Taxenbach , Salzburg ; † June 1, 2006 in Zell am See ), was an Austrian ski pioneer with numerous domestic and foreign successes.

He was the winner of the Harriman Cup , which was held in Sun Valley , Idaho, USA, as well as the winner of the Silver Ski on Mount Rainier near Seattle. The course record he set at the time is still unbroken today. Since 1950 he has been active in tourism in Zell am See. In 1953 he built the well-known Breiteckalm on the Schmittenhöhe . He worked as a ski instructor until he was 94.
