Frank Loomis
Frank Farmer Loomis (born August 22, 1896 in Saint Paul , Minnesota , † April 4, 1971 in Tarpon Springs , Florida ) was an American athlete and Olympic champion .
At the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp , Frank Loomis won the 400-meter hurdles . With a win time of 54.0 seconds, he beat Charles Bacon's twelve-year-old world record by one second. Those placed behind him, John Norton , August Desch (both USA) and the French Géo André stayed below the old world record.
