Peter Rodgers Melnick

Peter Rodgers Melnick (born July 24, 1958 ) is an American composer .

biography

Peter Rodgers Melnick is the son of the film producer Daniel Melnick and his wife Linda Rodgers. His grandfather is the 20 Academy Award-winning composer Richard Rodgers . He is also the nephew of writer and composer Mary Rodgers . He grew up in New York City and attended The Choate School . He then studied at Harvard College , Berklee College of Music , Guildhall School of Music and Drama and jazz with Jaki Byard . In 1987 Melnick made his debut as a film composer with the music for the horror comedy Vampire Party, directed by Dan Peterson . His most famous film scores were those for LA Story and Only You .
