Höfen refers to a settlement area in Pfettrach , part of the Bavarian market Altdorf in the Landshut district .

As the name suggests, farmers' farms were located there in the past centuries. Important location factors were the Pfettrach brook as an energy source for mills like the Haunmühle and, from 1900, the Landshut – Rottenburg railway line . The courtyards were not allowed to be built too close to the bank because of the risk of flooding the Pfettrach brook. Furthermore, at that time it was important to maintain certain distances when it came to the disposal of animal carcasses. These were disposed of in their own way outside of the court positions (the so-called Schinderweg ).

Today the Höfenstraße connects the federal highway 299 with Pfettrach.
