history

St. Othmar Church

Ancient finds show that the region was already settled in prehistoric times, the Aldhochhaus-Museum near Ganslberg shows corresponding finds. In 789 the place was first mentioned in a written source. The next later mention in a handover book of the Mondsee Monastery dates to around the year 800 as Phetarah . The municipality Pfettrach, formed on May 17, 1818 by the revised municipal edict, was incorporated into Altdorf as part of a territorial reform on January 1, 1971 together with the municipality of Eugenbach . Unrealized plans around 1870 envisaged the merger of Eugenbach, Pfettrach, Münchnerau and Altdorf to form the Altdorf mayor .

In 1848 the Pfettrach farmers gained independence from the patrimonial court . The first school building was built in 1885, before school lessons took place in Altdorf. It was closed again between 1952 and 1972, and lessons were moved back to the newly built school center in Altdorf.

During the First World War , 29 men from Pfettrach died while serving in the military. After the Second World War , which claimed a total of 184 lives from Eugenbach, Altdorf and Pfettrach, the number of inhabitants rose sharply due to the influx of displaced people, people from destroyed cities and the Soviet occupation zone .

Residents

In 1869, 329 people lived in Pfettrach; as of 2011, the population is around 1500.

Economy and Infrastructure

The social structure is shaped by long-established farms as well as young families who settle down due to the well-developed infrastructure, such as schools, kindergartens and shops.

energy

Wind power

In April 2013, the Altdorf store was in the process of changing the land use plan in order to identify concentration zones for the use of wind power. According to the building permit, which was available in November 2014, the construction of two 180 and 200 m high wind turbines in a forest area near Heindlfeld was planned in 2015/2016 as part of a public participation model to supply 3,000 households

Resistance arose against the construction of the wind turbines in the form of the citizens' initiative "Gegenwind". The "Association for Landscape Management & Species Protection" fought against it in court. After multiple court disputes about the applicability of the 10H rule , EnBW will build a wind turbine near Pfettrach in spring 2020 .

Culture and sights

freetime and sports

The SC Pfettrach annually organizes the Pfettrachtaler run , (half) marathon with transponder measurement and mountain bike trail.

Architectural monuments

The Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments lists 4 historical buildings .

Station building

The railway line between Landshut and Rottenburg , which was closed in 1998 , was reopened for museum railroad trips in 2012. It has been moving workers and raw materials since the beginning of the 20th century and was an important route of transport in this rural area. The old station building is under monument protection and was added to the list of architectural monuments in Altdorf along with three other Pfettrach buildings, including the Catholic Curate Church of St. Othmar and a former farm building of the Pfettrach Castle .
