Arth is a part of the municipality of Furth in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

Arth is located on the Pfettrach about two kilometers east of Furth on the B 299 .

history

Donation deeds from the years 814 and 822 indicate a manorial rule in this area. Arth is first mentioned in a document in 1028 in the records of the St. Emmeram monastery . Arth formed a chairman in the Altdorf office . In 1752 the place consisted of 16 properties.

The community of Arth emerged from the tax district of the same name . It was incorporated into the municipality of Furth as part of the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978. The broken wheel of St. Catherine stands for the old community of Arth in the Further coat of arms .

Attractions

  • Filial church of St. Catherine . It was built between 1708 and 1710 by Hans Widtmann from Pfeffenhausen and has been preserved in the uniform baroque style to this day. The baroque high altar dates from around 1680 and was in Eching until 1710 . Instead of an altar leaf, it contains a wooden figure of St. Mary with child and scepter from 1470. The side figures were created between 1510 and 1520. The side altars were made in the Rococo style in the mid-18th century. A rosary Madonna with child and apple dates from around 1500.
