Peter Rudeforth

Peter Rudeforth (born March 20, 1963 in Aberystwyth ) is a British jazz trumpeter .

Live and act

Rudeforth began playing the trumpet at the age of seven. While at school he became interested in jazz and founded his first band. At the age of 16 he appeared on radio and television and made the commercial recording of a Vivaldi concert. He was principal trumpeter in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales ; he studied at Cardiff University and then at the Royal Academy of Music , where he won several awards.

Rudeforth is a founding member of the Albion Brass Consort , with whom he has performed at many festivals and on BBC Radio 3 . He ran Pete's Goodtime Jazz Band ; since 2008 he has been part of Chris Barber's medium band ; he is also a member of the Charleston Chasers , the Piccadilly Dance Orchestra and the Palm Court Theater Orchestra . He also worked with Kenny Ball , Acker Bilk , George Melly and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra . As a studio musician , he accompanied Paul McCartney , Elton John , Phil Collins and Sting (in George Martin's Concert for Monserrat at the Royal Albert Hall).

In the field of jazz he is involved in 15 recordings between 2000 and 2011, among others with Phil Parnell and Lillian Boutté .
