Peter Salisbury

Peter Salisbury (born September 24, 1971 in Bath ; born Peter Anthony Salisbury ; nickname "Sobbo") is a British musician. He was a founding member, drummer and percussionist of the Britpop band The Verve , which achieved worldwide fame with the hit single Bitter Sweet Symphony . He has his own drum shop in Stockport , England .

Pete Salisbury has been the studio and tour drummer for ex-front man Richard Ashcroft since 1999 . In 2004 he also took over the drums from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club until their drummer Nick Jago returned to the band in 2005. In 2007 Pete recorded the fourth album Forth with The Verve and toured with the band until 2008. In 2010 he replaced Jon Brookes, the seriously ill drummer of the Charlatans, and after his death also played drums for the 2015 album Modern Nature and the band's last album from 2017, Different Days .
