This Is Music: The Singles 92-98 is a compilation album by the British band The Verve , which was released on November 1, 2004 via Virgin Records on both CD and DVD . It sums up the band's first 12 singles from 1992 to 1998 plus two previously unreleased songs.

description

The compilation was named after the single "This Is Music". A photo from the shoot for the single "She's A Superstar" was chosen as the album cover . The songs "All in the Mind", "Slide Away" and "Blue" have been digitally revised for the single collection . The Japanese release also includes the song "I See the Door", which previously appeared as a B-side on "On Your Own".

The two previously unreleased songs "This Could Be My Moment" and "Monte Carlo" come from the creation phase of the Urban Hymns album , before lead guitarist Nick McCabe rejoined the band in 1996. They were therefore only recorded with Simon Tong as a substitute guitarist, who later remained in the band as the fifth member until 1999.

Video compilation

A DVD was also released under the same name. It contains the European promo videos for the band's first 12 singles as well as the US version of "Lucky Man". The American promo clips for the songs "A Man Called Sun", "Blue", "The Rolling People" and "Bitter Sweet Symphony" were not included.
