Peter Schönau

Peter Schönau (born December 19, 1944 in Rendsburg ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

After attending middle school, Schönau completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant . He then began training as a naval officer at the naval school in Mürwik , which he completed as an ensign . Schönau initially worked full-time in foreign trade and lived for several years in La Paz , the capital of Bolivia . After returning to Germany, he worked for several companies in export and as a translator.

In the early 1970s, Schönau went freelance as a translator and founded an agency for translation services. Later he worked for several years in local politics in his hometown Rendsburg, was chairman of a local sports club and held other honorary positions .

In 1993, Schönau settled in Settimo Vittone , in northern Italy . Here he continued to work as a translator and worked as an author for the first time. Since 2005 he has lived most of the year in Buenos Aires , the capital of Argentina .
