Peter Schlör (* 1964 in Mannheim ) is a German photographer and visual artist .

life and work

Since 1985, Peter Schlör has dealt artistically with black and white photography as an autodidact and sees himself connected to subjective photography . His themes are isolation, hermeticism and isolation, which he reflects in the form of archetypes such as the tree, the mountain or the house, mostly heavily exaggerated. The resulting images do not show imitations of reality, but super-realities in an aesthetic of the sublime . His work is characterized by consistent compositional rigor, paired with strong light / dark contrasts. Deep black is a central element in many of his pictures. Schlör's work is not created chronologically. Rather, several series of works are created parallel to one another, which relate to one another and interlock.
