Peter Schmidt (journalist)

Peter Schmidt (born April 27, 1938 in Karlsruhe ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

Schmidt is the son of a Palatine teacher from Speyer . From 1958 Peter Schmidt worked as a permanent employee at various newspapers. In 1960 he completed a traineeship at " Die Rheinpfalz " and then at the " Speyerer Tagespost " at Klambt-Verlag . This was followed by a magazine internship.

At the Speyerer Tagespost he worked as editor-in-chief and shaped the paper until his retirement.

In addition to his work for the daily mail, he wrote articles in magazines and newspapers on the subject of contemporary history . He published in specialist books on the architecture of the 19th century and on the history of the Jews . He also published a children's book and a novel under the pseudonym Peter Biron .
