The Speyerer Tagespost was a local newspaper in Speyer from 1952 to December 31, 2002 . She last received her coat from Mannheim morning .

The complete annual volumes are u. a. Preserved by the Palatinate State Library Speyer and in the Speyer City Archives. The Internet version of the last few years from July 6, 1999 to December 31, 2002, approx. 30,000 articles, are available online.

The long-time editor-in-chief, journalist and author Peter Schmidt was particularly influential . The last editor-in-chief was Jürgen Gruler, who now runs the Schwetzinger Zeitung .

As a reason for discontinuing the newspaper with a final print run of 5000 copies, the media group Dr. Haas , owner since 1999, reports a lack of economic prospects.

After the newspaper was closed, many of the subscribers did not switch to the long-standing competition of the Speyerer Rundschau, the local edition of the newspaper Die Rheinpfalz , but to the re-establishment of the Speyerer Morgenpost .
