Peter Thiesen

Peter Thiesen (born June 1, 1952 in Eutin ) is a German educator and writer.

Life

Peter Thiesen grew up in Eutin in Ostholstein . After graduating from high school, he studied social pedagogy , education , German and politics in Kiel . As a qualified social pedagogue , he worked for several years as a district and city youth worker as well as a lecturer at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences . After the first and second state examinations for higher teaching qualifications (1979), he became senior teacher at the technical college for social pedagogy in Lübeck . He has been married since 1981 and has two sons.

Thiesen is the author and editor of 71 books and standard works on social, play and school education , which have also been translated into Dutch, English, Romanian and Japanese. Some of his books are available as audio books. Several of his textbooks have been an integral part of the training and practice of educators and social workers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for over 25 years.
