Peter Thomäus

Peter Thomäus (* 1st half of the 16th century in Senftenberg , † 1588 in Meißen ) was a German professor of dialectics .

Life

Thomäus studied among other things theology at the University of Leipzig . In 1544 he obtained his master's degree and became professor of dialectics at this university. In his function as professor at the philosophical faculty, Thomäus was given the rectorate of the Leipzig University in 1550 .

In 1553 Peter Thomäus was appointed to the princely state school St. Afra in Meissen and received the post of vice principal. In addition to the languages Greek , Latin and Hebrew, he taught the natural sciences of mathematics , geography and astronomy .

Due to old age Thomäus was retired in 1588. In the same year he died in Meissen.
