Peter Thomsen (Rector)

Peter Thomsen (born May 12, 1875 in Dresden-Neustadt ; † April 26, 1954 ) was a German school principal and orientalist .

Life

Peter Thomsen was the son of pastor Christian Thomsen and his wife Clara née Thenius, the daughter of the Consistorial Councilor Otto Thenius. After attending grammar school in Bautzen , he studied theology at the University of Leipzig from 1894 to 1898 . He then worked as a private tutor until 1901 before briefly working as a teacher in Chemnitz . In 1902 he became a teacher at the Annenschule in Dresden.

He received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen in 1903.

In 1930 Peter Thomsen became rector of the secondary school in Dresden.

Thomsen presented numerous publications on Palestine , but also on family history. Among other things, he is the author of a Palestine bibliography,
