Peter Zechmeister

Peter Zechmeister (* 1954 ) is a former German basketball player and coach.

He played at SV Möhringen and SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg . After his active career, he completed a four-month internship at the University of Redlands in California and was a coach in the 1970s, 1980s and most recently from 1993 to 1997 at Sportvereinigung 07 and the BG Ludwigsburg that emerged from it, and later also chairman for two years. He led Ludwigsburg into the basketball league and qualified with the team in 1994 for the Korać Cup .

He also led the first women's team of BSG Ludwigsburg in 2004 in the 1st Bundesliga and reached the play-offs with them. After a break, in January 2010 he agreed to take over the team now playing under the name Rutronik Stars Keltern II again, initially until the end of the season , in view of the threat of relegation .

From 1979 to 1994 he was also under contract with the German Basketball Association . He led the DBB selection at the 1983 European Cadet Championships in Ludwigsburg together with Pit Callies in 3rd place and in 1994 was assistant to national coach Dirk Bauermann at the World Championships in Toronto, Canada.

In addition to sports, he studied at the Ludwigsburg University of Education . He is a secondary school teacher for mathematics and sports in Marbach am Neckar .
