location

Petersdorf is located south of Fürstenwalde between the Dubrower and Rauenschen mountains , so in the so-called Petersdorfer Pforte. The surroundings of Petersdorf are very wooded, and the Petersdorfer See borders the village to the east.

history

It is very likely that Petersdorf was originally a Slavic settlement, which was later taken over or settled by German settlers (around 1300 to 1500). However, Petersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1463. The history of Petersdorf is also closely connected to the lignite mining in the Rauenschen Mountains, which began in 1680 and was intensified in the course of the 19th century. In 1876 a school was built in Petersdorf. On December 31, 2002, Petersdorf was incorporated into the Bad Saarow community .

tourism

The waterskiing facility "Wakepark Petersdorf" is located in Petersdorf.
