Petya Dubarova
Petya Stojkowa Dubarova (also: Petya Dubarova; Bulgarian Петя Стойкова Дубарова ; born April 25, 1962 in Burgas ; † December 4, 1979 ibid) was a Bulgarian poet and actress .
Life
Petya Dubarova was born in the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Burgas in the family of Marija and Stajko Dubarowi. She wrote her first poems very early on. Some of them were featured in the newspapers "Slavehche" (bulg. Славейче ) and "Narodna Mladesch" (bulg. Народна младеж ), as well as in the youth magazines "Rodna Retsch" (bulg. Родна реч ) and "Mladesch" (bulg. Мжладеж ) published. In her works she was influenced by the authors Christo Fotew and Grigor Lenkow .
Dubarova made her film debut in "Trampa" (1978) (bulg. Трампа ). After primary school, the excellent pupil attended the English-language high school "Geo Milew" in the coastal city. There she often read her poems to her classmates.
During the winter holidays, she went skiing with her family in the mountains. On one of these trips she met her great love Peer, a Swede . In her diary she describes him as "... the stranger, the bright, the charming, the tender ..." . However, when the holidays are over, he returns to Sweden and she returns to Burgas. In the following time they exchange several letters, but Peer breaks off contact. Dubarova found it difficult to process the separation.
On December 4, 1979, she committed suicide at the age of 17 years suicide , the reasons have been for so far not clear.
Today there is a museum in Burgas dedicated to her.

Dubarowa's lyrics have a certain frivolity, full of pastel colors and romance. Her poetry deals with several eternal themes such as love, the sea, rain, and youth. Despite her early age, her work convinces with the language and perspective of a much more mature person. Most of her poems were published in newspapers and magazines while she was still alive, but her complete works were only printed posthumously. Among the most important books with their poetry are “Me and the Sea” ( Аз и морето , 1980), “Poetry” ( Поезия , 1984), “Swallow” ( Лястовица , 1987), “The bluest magic” ( Най-синьото вълшеб , 1988), “ Schoolbook ” ( Ученическа тетрадка , 1990). Her works have been translated into German, English and Russian.
