Petr Dvorský

Petr Dvorský (* 1966 ) is a Czech jazz musician ( double bass , composition ).

Dvorský attended the Konzervatoř Jaroslava Ježka (Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory) in Prague and studied classical music with Václav Fuka and Jiří Valenta ; He also took private lessons with January Kment . Then he began to turn to jazz and played in the Prague jazz scene a. a. with Luboš Andršt Acoustic Set and in the Jan Hala Big Band. He became known since 1990 with The Four (with Jiří Slavíček , Karel Růžička , Stanislav Mácha ) and with the Infinite Quintet (with Miroslav Hloucal , Petr Kalfus , Viliam Béreš ); In 1994 he was awarded at the international Jazz Juniors competition in Krakow. From the 2000s he worked with Emil Viklický (with whom he also played in a duo), in the Najponk Trio ( Autumn in New York ), Štěpán Markovič Saxtet, Adam Tvrdý Trio, Roman Pokorný Trio and with Beat Kaestli . In the course of his career he has also played with Mark Vinci , Steve Lacy , Ingrid Jensen , Marcus Printup , Randy Brecker , Julian Nicholas , Lew Tabackin and Jaroslav Jakubovič ; he was also a member of the Czech Radio Big Band. In the field of jazz he was involved in 13 recording sessions between 1993 and 2015.
