Julius Carbene
Julius Carben (born February 15, 1862 in Hammelburg , † April 30, 1920 in Munich ) was a German painter, illustrator and caricaturist.
Julius Carben studied from October 25, 1879 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Wilhelm Lindenschmit the Younger and Alexander von Liezen-Mayer .
He then worked in Munich as an illustrator and sometimes also a cartoonist. He illustrated books and supplied drawings to the " youth ". He exhibited his works at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition (1901 and 1905) and in the Munich Glass Palace (1907).
Julius Carben visited the Dachau artists' colony from 1910 .
