Pyotr Viktorovich Migunov
Pyotr Wiktorowitsch Migunow ( Russian Пётр Викторович Мигунов ; born August 24, 1974 in Leningrad ) is a Russian opera and concert singer ( bass ).
Life
Migunow graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and won both the Tokyo and Salzburg singing competitions in 1997 and 1999 . He is known for his interpretation of the bass part in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony as well as the bass parts in the Requiems of Mozart and Fauré .
Migunow is also known for his performance of opera roles such as Mephistopheles in Faust , Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin , René in Iolanta and Don Iñigo in L'heure espagnole .
In 2000 he appeared in both Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center theaters. In Russia he is a soloist at the Bolshoi Theater .
